An opportunity has been created for a Workshop Technician to join our client who are a leading Engineering Support Services provider based at their modern workshop located on the outskirts of Glasgow on a full time permanent basis.
This is a full time permanent opportunity, working hours are a standard 37hr week comprising of Monday – Thursday 08:00am – 4:30pm and Friday is 08:00am – 4:00pm with 30minute lunch break. Upon successful completion of probation, your salary will be increased to circa £30,000.00 per annum on a 37hr week.
Your time will be spent working within the workshop working alongside a small but close-knit team of other fitters & technicians where you will be responsible for:
* Supporting plant operations and maintenance on rotating equipment
* Commissioning, strip down and inspection all required equipment
* Working to/from engineering drawings
* Testing of components using various monitoring devices
* Failure analysis reporting of customer equipment to include costing for repairs, replacements and upgrades
This position would ideally suit candidates who come from but not limited to an automotive engineering and/or plant fitting/mechanical background due to the transferable skills.
Essential requirements:
* Good mechanical aptitude
* Experienced working with rotating plant & machinery
* The ability to work to/from engineering drawings
* Proven track record in fault diagnosis and rectification
* Good problem solving skills
* Confidence in own ability
* Able to demonstrate a strong focus on customer care combined with excellent communication skills
