Location: BBC Radio Surrey (Guildford)
Salary : Upto £31,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Job Introduction
BBC Radio Surrey has a rare opportunity to work with our talented team of broadcast journalists based in Guildford.
We're looking for a newsreader to work as part of our Breakfast and morning output. You'll be the first voice many of our listeners here as you deliver the news that matters across Surrey and North East Hampshire. You'll have the ability to tell stories in a creative and dynamic way that engage with our audience.
You will work as part of the wider BBC South East news operation. We have recently established new workflows so adaptability and teamwork will be essential.
Main Responsibilities
Local knowledge of the patch is essential, as is a passion for storytelling. In our newsroom, no two days are ever the same. You'll be skilled in coming up with creative content that will be of interest to our audience. You'll also have the ability to recognise how we can share those stories in a variety of ways on our different platforms.
You will look to ensure a full diversity of voices, meeting high journalistic standards and observing the BBC Editorial Guidelines.
Are you the right candidate?
The ideal candidate won't be put off by early starts You will have previous experience of compiling and reading radio news bulletins. You'll understand how to tell a story in a way in which our audience can understand and engage with it. You'll really care about reaching and engaging with a truly diverse audience. You'll be a good team player and you'll be brimming with ideas on news stories to share with your colleagues and our audience.
