Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking company, is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their talented team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or early career professional looking to gain valuable experience in the industry. They work within the civil and demolition sectors and are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their close-knit team.
Managing approximately five projects at any time, with values from between anywhere £20,000 to £3million, you will be responsible for the Commercial Management of a Project from negotiating the initial contract to settling the Final Account.
Our client engages in a wide variety of forms of contract from the commonly used JCT and NEC suites, as well as bespoke agreements. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be required to work with all of these.
About the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor
You will be working alongside experienced team, learning the ropes and contributing to a variety of projects based in the Kent and parts of London.
Negotiate Contracts (both Main Contract and Subcontract)
Break estimates down into cost budgets
Tender and procure subcontract and supplier packages
Liaise with account departments to advise them of cost and revenue matters
Preparing and updating project programme's (Gantt Charts) to reflect change.
Requirements for Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Qualifications: RICS, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar is preferred.
IT Skills: Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Eque2 Construct and Deltek PIM.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Ethic: professional demeanour with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
