Throughout Gloucestershire, for students who are too unwell to attend their own school, GHES provides short term education, supporting their reintegration to mainstream schools when they are well enough.  We teach English, Maths, Science and PSHE to the vast majority of our students, from reception to Year 11.  If you have never considered teaching in Alternative Education this may be the opportunity you are looking for to apply your teaching skills on an individual or small group basis and being able to make a difference to every child you work with. This is a hugely rewarding role and the successful candidate would find themselves working in a team of highly motivated and creative teachers.  The role can be peripatetic and require travelling across the county to visit children in their homes or to teach in one of our classrooms in Cheltenham. Increasingly, the majority of KS4 lessons are online in small groups, and any candidate would be expected to embrace the use of technology and online learning for this teaching role. During the year our student numbers rise and fall, so the successful candidate needs to be flexible with working patterns within a school day, and the ability to deal well with students flowing in and out of groups.  We serve the county of Gloucestershire, and students can be located anywhere within the county.  Therefore, it is essential that candidates hold a full driving licence and have use of a car.
