Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Head Teacher at Bright Minds Creative Academy in Croydon

At Bright Minds, we are a holistic school educating learners from the age of 11 - 16 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, including ADHD and autism. Situated in the heart of Croydon, Bright Minds Creative Academy supports the provision of up to 50 pupils across two sites for secondary-aged pupils. We support our students with the familiarity, predictability, structure, and boundaries that they need to be successful in life.

Our specialist independent schools offer unrivalled opportunities, securing sound educational outcomes with personalized, inclusive, and stimulating programs of learning. We provide education and support to children and young people who have complex special educational needs and require their SEN provision to be delivered in a specialist setting.

The successful applicants will need:
● Experience working as a Assistant Head Teacher ideally in a similar environment
● Be an Ofsted expert, maintain and build your understanding of requirements, helping the school move towards an outstanding rating.
● Ability to motivate, drive, and support staff and pupils, using a person-centered approach.
● A real can do, will do attitude, with the desire to succeed and improve our school.
● Have a commitment and passion to work with pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, along with a range of other difficulties including trauma, attachment, and associated challenging behaviors
● Have a clear vision, strong leadership, and effective management skills.
● An exceptionally enthusiastic and committed leader to manage and motivate pupils and staff, and can lead, motivate, and inspire teams to raise standards in student outcomes.
● Is familiar with the need for creativity in delivering the National Curriculum, whilst supporting pupils to overcome their barriers to learning.
● Have a solid understanding of the new Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and Independent School Standards
