A highly successful Special Needs School in Wandsworth is seeking to appoint a specialist SEN Teacher to join their team ASAP
The school cater to primary and secondary pupils with a range of needs, however they are in need of an SEN teacher from January for a mixed EYFS/Yr1 class of ASD/SLD pupils.
This position has arisen due to a member of staff moving back to their home country in response to personal family obligations and responsibilities.
The class consists of eight pupils who have been grouped in accordance with their academic and social development.The SEN Teacher Job:
This SEN Teacher position has arisen unexpectedly but the Headteacher is keen to stress that they are well prepared to ensure a smooth transition
A comprehensive induction and support plan has been drawn up to ensure that the new SEN Teacher will be welcomed and resourced to ensure they are happy and successful in their new job.
The SEN Teacher post is being offered as a permanent contract with the school open to applications from ECTs and experienced teachers from mainstream or special schools.

This SEN Teacher role offers the opportunity to work within an OfSTED outstanding Wandsworth SEN school.
The successful SEN Teacher applicant will beleading an established, hard-working and highly adaptable team of two specialist Teaching Assistants (TAs) and a higher level teaching assistant (HLTA).
The team is very friendly and have a great understanding of the needs and characteristics of the children in class.
Induction and CPD training in a range of specialist strategies including TEACCH, PECS, Attention Autism, Makaton and Intensive Interaction.The School

On site parking is plentiful with great road links making for easy commutes from most inner London boroughs or easy access to the M25 via the M4 or the M3.

Support form a multi professional team including on site Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists, high levels of CAMHS and Educational Psychology support and close links with the social workers from the Wandsworth 0-25 service.
216 pupils on roll with 180 staff.The Ideal SEN Teacher Applicant:
All SEN Teacher applicants must have QTS.
Have a passion for teaching students with autism.
Experience teaching within a specialist SEN environment or primary school in the UK in the last 12 months.
A proven record of teaching SEN students with autism would be advantageous though not essential.
A good understanding of P levels and the Key Stage 1 national curriculum.
The ability to prepare and teach effective lessons taking into account the individual needs of learners.
A creative approach to lesson planning.
A patient, calm and engaging classroom manner.
Strong communication and team leadership skills.
Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application.Reeson Education:
