Design Engineer

required for our client who are a UK wide supplier of Scaffolding, access and groundworks products based out of their Uxbridge office.. The company are recruiting for an ambitious Design Engineer with Groundworks or Temporary Works experience to provide a link between the engineering and commercial functions. The Design Engineer will be joining a established team for within a large organisation.
The ideal candidate will have experience of designing temporary works and ideally excavation support. In addition, being ambitious, self-sufficient, and motivated are requirements. You will be joining a team who are pushing the boundaries and continually developing. The Groundworks Engineer will be preparation / checking of temporary works and groundworks designs, attending meetings as well as understanding, and managing key projects, presenting to customers among others.
Design Engineer – Groundworks Position OverviewnProduction of temporary works and groundworks designs and drawings.nUndertaking occasional checking of designs and drawingsnUndertaking CalculationsnLink between engineering and commercial functions.nEngineering advice and guidance at site or office meetings.nBuilding relationships with key customers and individuals.nDevelop new relationships as and when required.nLearn the effective use of internal systemsnAttend Regional Engineering and Design meetings as requirednAssisting other areas of the business if value can be added
Design Engineer – Groundworks Position RequirementsnMinimum HNC/HND Structural/Civil Engineeringn2 + years’ experience in temporary works or ground worksnThe ability to apply knowledge and experience to temporary works solutionsnWillingness to apply engineering judgement and take responsibilitynA basic understanding of legislation such as CDM 2015nWorking knowledge of Design Software’s (Support IT / AutoCAD)nRevit experience desirable but not essentialnA professional manner with excellent communication and people skillsnThe candidate must be keen to complete their professional qualifications from the outset a minimum EngTech professional recognition with the ICE / IStructE
