What You’ll Be Doing


In this role as Head of Engineering, you’ll lead the technical transformation journey, overseeing the strategic vision for technology architecture, software development, and application management. You’ll steer a talented team, building consensus and alignment across technical initiatives, and ensuring the roadmap is in sync with broader organisational goals and community needs.


As a senior leader, you will bring a pragmatic approach to technical challenges, providing insights to stakeholders at all levels. You’ll be involved in strategic decision-making, particularly when it comes to navigating competing technical solutions and guiding your teams towards effective, cohesive outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the engineering and architectural vision, ensuring alignment across application and technology teams.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex ideas into actionable strategies.
  • Coach and develop team members, fostering both technical skills and leadership qualities.
  • Navigate competing technical proposals, bringing conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to the forefront.
  • Ensure the smooth adoption of modern engineering tools, frameworks, and agile methodologies within the organisation.


What We’re Looking For

An ideal candidate will have a robust engineering background, with over 8 years in software engineering or technical architecture roles, including hands-on and leadership experience. You should be well-versed in the software development lifecycle and agile practices and have a solid grasp of modern engineering tools.

You’ll need strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and build relationships across all levels, coupled with meticulous record-keeping and a detail-oriented approach. Above all, this role is for a “people person” with the technical acumen and leadership abilities to drive impactful change.
