Electrical Design Engineer
Salary: to £45,000 pa
Location: Sandy - Cambourne - Huntingdon area
Own transport required due the company's location
We are currently seeking a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to collaborate closely with the Mechanical Design, Project, and Software teams. The role involves providing control panel layouts, schematic drawings with component and cable specifications, and support to the installation teams and clients. While primarily office-based, occasional travel to remote client or supply chain sites may be required.
Responsibilities:
Create electrical diagrams using Eplan Pro Panel.
Specify and source components to meet project requirements.
Collaborate on PLC/HMI selection.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes.
Provide technical support and advice.
Work on technical design calculations.
Integrate control systems within machine envelopes.
Research replacement options for obsolete components.
Work with both AC and DC systems.
Qualifications & Skills:
Practical electrical wiring experience.
Previous electrical CAD experience (Eplan Pro Panel preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
HNC/HND qualification or higher in electrical engineering.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Additional Qualifications:
Knowledge of international control panel design, such as the US and Australia.
Familiarity with PLC hardware and software, such as Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, and Siemens.
Understanding of industrial networking systems.
Hours: 40-hour week, Mon - Fri: 08.30 - 17.00
Location: In the St. Neots - Cambourne - Huntingdon area (Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire)
