We are seeking an experienced Wire Person with strong prototype wiring skills for a role in Wokingham. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical assembly and a commitment to high-quality standards.
Wire Person Hours: 08:45 am - 17:00 pm (Flexible)
Wire Person Qualifications and Knowledge:
Relevant engineering qualification and practical experience.
Understanding of quality standards.
Qualification in mechanical assembly or equivalent experience.
IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
IPC J-STD-001 certification (preferred).
Wire Person Skills and Experience:
Experience in assembly/production processes.
Proficient with copper cabling and small components.
Ability to read and follow technical drawings and wiring schematics.
Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with flexibility for workload adjustments.
IPC J-STD-001 soldering skills or equivalent.
High manual dexterity.
Mechanical assembly skills, adhering to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Level 3 standards for wire harnesses and cable looms.
Wire Person Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage production processes including assembly, inventory, documentation, equipment maintenance, calibration, shipping, and quality control.
Recommend and implement improvements for new products and processes.
Plan department workflow according to manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Modify drawings and product designs as needed.
Monitor consumables and tooling to ensure sufficient stock.
Maintain quality standards per Company QMS procedures.
Ensure compliance with Company Health and Safety policies.
Complete all documentation accurately and promptly.
Assist in recruiting and selecting new staff.
Perform other duties as required by management.
