Job Description:

Red Laser Scanning is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our forward-thinking team. As a Project Manager, you will oversee survey projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively. Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of surveys. This role is crucial for maintaining project safety and efficiency, requiring a strategic approach to managing resources, timelines, and project deliverables.


Responsibilities:

 

Project Planning and Project Completion :

  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Coordinate with clients for access arrangements and project deadlines.
  • Attend meetings with clients for ongoing projects.
  • Ensure project information/data is being stored correctly.
  • Determine resource allocation, including equipment and personnel.
  • Take the project to successful completion. 


Team Management :

  • Lead and manage the surveyors.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues.


Client Communication :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on project status and developments.
  • Address and resolve any client concerns or queries promptly.
  • Maintain good relations with clients to ensure repeat business.


Quality Control :

  • Ensure the survey team are completing tasks effectively in alignment with the scope of works. 
  • Support in maintaining and developing accreditations for the business.
  • Work alongside our Quality Control Team to ensure deliverables have been successfully reviewed before issuing to clients.


Budget Management :

  • Monitor project budget and track expenses to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Work alongside our accounts department to ensure invoices are delivered for projects in the designated timeframes.


Regulatory Compliance :

  • Ensure all surveying activities comply with industry standards.
  • Implement safety protocols.


Technology and Tools :

  • Ensure team members are trained on technologies and tools.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment or software enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.

 

Requirements:

 

Experience :

  • Minimum of three years of project management experience, preferably in measured building surveying.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience in managing teams and coordinating with various stakeholders, including clients and subcontractors.


Educational Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in project management is highly desirable.


Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in surveying technologies and software
  • Strong understanding of the geospatial and surveying process.

 

Communication and Interpersonal Skills :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate project goals, plans, and issues to team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.


Organisational and Analytical Skills :

  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address project challenges and make data-driven decisions.


Leadership Skills :

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities to inspire and lead project teams.
  • Capability to mentor and develop team members.


Budget and Financial Management :

  • Experience in budget planning and financial management.
  • Skills in cost estimation and managing project finances to maintain profitability.


Regulatory Knowledge :

  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment related to surveying.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements in the surveying industry.


Adaptability and Flexibility :

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the rapidly evolving field of surveying.
  • Flexibility to handle unexpected challenges and changes in project scope or deliverables.
