Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school based in Newham. This full-time role, starting in September, offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with ASD and ADHD, ensuring their individual needs are met.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
Work closely with classroom teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.
Support students in both academic and social activities, fostering their overall development.
Employ effective behavior management strategies to support positive student behavior.
Facilitate small group and one-on-one sessions to reinforce learning objectives.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Collaborate with school staff and external professionals to support student learning and well-being.Requirements:
Previous experience working with students with ASD and ADHD is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of the challenges and strategies associated with supporting students with special educational needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
