Following internal promotion, we have an opportunity in our Strategy Directorate for a Projects and Policy Officer to join the team for a 6-month fixed-term contract role.

The Projects and Policy Officer provides project, policy and business support to the Directorate to enable the delivery of the key strategic objectives of the University and support the Leadership Team in the management of projects and activities as required. They will work closely and collaboratively with senior management, Schools and Professional Services and external bodies.

 

Projects and Policy Officer

The Projects and Policy Officer will work with the wider Strategy and Public Affairs teams supporting key institutional activities and ensure appropriate policy support in all areas of the Directorate’s work by:

  • supporting the provision of excellent and effective operational processes that adhere to University policies and processes and add value to the work of the Directorate and the Leadership Team
  • supporting effective discharge of strategic and operational objectives through pro-active management of business and information flows and assisting in the co-ordination and clear communication of actions, project and event management and policy work as required.
  • supporting the effective delivery of strategic projects and programmes of work through coordination of project and programme activity and high-level administrative support
  • working with the Chief Strategy and Data Officer to ensure join up between the work of the Leadership Team and the Strategy Directorate and ensure the resource within the office remains flexible to the needs of fast-paced business objectives
  • supporting the wider Strategy Directorate and Public Affairs in delivering key institutional activities and providing appropriate policy support to the Chief Strategy and Data Officer
  • building positive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with colleagues across all levels of the University to ensure effective dissemination of duties on behalf of the Strategy Directorate and Leadership Team
