Role: Support class teachers by assisting in classroom management and by providing support with behaviour management. And promote strong behaviour management practice in the classroom with whole group and 1:1 work.
Job Description:
Assist with the administration of medication, storage and reporting procedures across the school.
Assist with the delivery of intervention sessions where required.
Assist children to deal with behavioural and/or emotional difficulties or particular vulnerabilities.
Ensure that all children and young people are treated with dignity and respect, in an environment which reflects the importance of and their right to be treated as valuable worthwhile individuals
Support the fulfilment of day pastoral care systems and practice across the school.
Undertake activities with either individuals or small groups of children in order to facilitate their physical, emotional and educational development.
Carry out the duties of a classroom assistant as required and directed by the Pastoral Care Manager.
Person Specification:
Experience of working with young people that have Social, Emotional or Mental Health difficulties and / or behaviours that challenge.
Ability to work in partnership with Teachers and SLT
Knowledge of and / or experience of using strategies to support vulnerable young people.
An awareness of keeping children safe, noticing safeguarding and welfare concerns and an understanding of how and when to take appropriate action.
Hold a current and valid DBS certificate or willing to obtain a DBS Certificate
