Their Building Design Practice seeks an experienced and motivated Intermediate/Senior Electrical Design Engineer eager to advance their career in a supportive environment. This role, based in their London office, offers the chance to join a national delivery team and collaborate with designers across the UK and internationally.
You will be part of a national practice of Building Design professionals, delivering engineering design solutions to clients across the UK. Their projects cover various focus markets, including Decarbonisation, Aviation, Urban Development, Education, Energy, and Transportation. This role offers a multi-sector experience, with particular expertise in Rail, Residential, Education, and Commercial sectors being advantageous.
This opportunity requires client-facing capabilities and involvement in the day-to-day design and management of projects. It is an exciting chance for an experienced design engineer to advance their career within a leading building design consultancy.

This role will enhance existing technical skills and provide opportunities to expand digital skills and project management capabilities. Responsibilities:
Focus on reducing energy consumption throughout design, construction, and lifecycle stages.
Experience with 'Net Zero' technologies for retrofit and new build projects.
Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems.
Conduct detailed calculations using industry-standard digital tools.
Understand project briefs thoroughly.
Design and specify fixed and temporary low voltage electrical installations, with HV system experience being a plus.
Perform electrical power and lighting design calculations for fixed and temporary installations.
Lead and manage project delivery elements and understand budget costings.
Prepare technical specifications using NBS.
Collaborate with the Global Technical Centre (GTC) to enhance building services projects.
Prepare drawings for drafting by the BIM team, with a working knowledge of Autodesk and Revit.
Represent the company at client and contractor meetings.
Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitor site works.
Write reports and technical notes.
Collaborate with architects and other designers to integrate input information into comprehensive mechanical designs.
Maintain complete records and archives to company standards.
Adhere to all quality, environmental, and governance processes.
Review progress, report anomalies, and scope changes to the line manager.
Assist with the technical development of junior staff.
Requirements:
Degree in Building Services Engineering or a related field.
Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE/IET.
Experience in Building Services projects.
Experience in a design consultancy; contractor experience is also welcome.
Proficiency in Amtech, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft packages.
In-depth knowledge of relevant technical standards.
Ability to manage project deliverables, make decisions, and work proactively.
Strong report writing skills and experience presenting to clients.
Eligibility for security clearance, with the vetting process conducted by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV).
