Role Overview: The Design Lead will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of mechanical systems in water sector projects. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the mechanical design team in developing innovative solutions for water infrastructure projects.
Oversee the design and construction of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and sustainability goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil, electrical, and environmental engineers, to ensure cohesive project execution.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Ensure all designs meet project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Conduct regular project reviews and provide updates to senior management.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mechanical design and the water sector.Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer status (CEng) is required.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and construction, with a focus on the water sector.
Proven experience leading design teams and managing large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of water infrastructure systems, including pumps, pipelines, and treatment facilities.
Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
