JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract to 31 December 2027 JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Climate Risk Advisor with strong expertise in climate data interpretation, risk assessment, and resilience planning. As a Climate Risk Advisor youll ensure programmes are climate-smart, risk informed and built on locally led participatory research. Youll support the integration of climate science into practical solutions that strengthen community resilience and sustainable outcomes. The Climate Risk Advisor will collaborate with global teams and external partners to translate complex climate insights into effective strategies, empowering colleagues through training and knowledge sharing. ACCOUNTABILITIES Your duties as the Climate Risk Advisor include: Provide Climate Risk Expertise: Ensure programming is climate-smart, risk-informed and evidence-based Lead Inclusive Research: Coordinate participatory action research to support locally led climate resilience approaches Build Staff Capacity: Deliver training and guidance on climate data interpretation and resilience planning Foster Collaboration: To build and continue technical collaboration with select weather and climate science service providers and participate actively in the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance Contribute Strategically: To contribute to strategic programme planning and coordination CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS The organisation is seeking a passionate and committed individual, with proven experience of working in interpreting climate data in risk analysis and planning. You will have proven experience in capacity building needs analysis, coordinating and delivering training. Proven professional experience in a related role, including significant time working in different geographical contexts globally Significant experience in conducting multistakeholder participatory action research and planning processes at different levels Excellent research, data collection and analysis skills Ability to work as part of a team and to develop relationships with people at all levels both internally and externally, to build consensus and gain their support Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines Excellent written and oral communication skills in English with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas simply and convincingly to non-technical audiences WHY JOIN?
