Software Developer

The React developer will work as part of a cross functional delivery team within Shell LNG Marketing & Trading (SLMT) to support the development and evolution of the SLMT data platform utilizing latest cutting-edge technologies. As a Developer within this team, you will work closely with data architects, engineers, and business support resources to deliver software, configuration and installation support to enable the mobilization and evolution of the SLMT data platform.

Key Skills and Experience:

1. React, (mandatory)

3. High charts, (Highly Recommended)

4. Sagas, (Recommended)

5. Flow

8. React-testing-library

9. Azure DevOps/VSTS experience creating/operating CI/CD build and release pipelines

10. Good knowledge and practical experience of software design principles & basic patterns

11. Strong emphasis on testing – unit, integration and automation

12. Strong emphasis and proven track record of building robust software that is easy to debug and operate

13. Has used Azure or other Cloud offering (Server less computing (AWS Lambda/AZURE Functions etc)

14. Experience and knowledge of auto software deployment technologies (e.g. Jenkins, Docker, Git)

15. Experience with Cloud-based software, specifically Microsoft Azure (including but not limited to Data bricks, Azure Foundations)

16. Experience with Data Architecture and design techniques (local/abstract) including Azure API techniques/developments

17. Experience of Agile Project Delivery techniques(e.g. Scrum, Kanban).

18. Have good interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills. Comfortable in communicating with business colleagues and working in cross functional global teams

19. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and balancing multiple priorities

20. Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

21. Knowledge and interest of Trading and Supply(commodity) businesses is preferable

22. Personal Attributes:

23. Adaptable to change, versatile and pragmatic

24. Uses best practice development techniques but can change approach according to conflicting timelines/risks involved

25. Comfortable talking to trading business user sand can translate business needs into tangible IT deliverable

26. Keeps up-to-date knowledge with recent IT software developments (open source and cloud in particular)

27. Uses initiative and owns end-to-end solution delivery

28. Brings creative and innovative ideas to the table, is inquisitive and excited by new technology

29. Proactively communicates and shares understanding and experience within a team

30. Used to working in a flexible, independent manner on a mixture of small unstructured and large structured items
