About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BMS & UPS Service Engineer with an electrical background to join our dynamic team, working across a variety of data centre projects. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on a critical role in maintaining and servicing Building Management Systems (BMS) and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems in some of the most advanced data centres in the UK.
The role offers a blend of fieldwork, problem-solving, and hands-on service engineering with cutting-edge technology in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, service, and maintain Electrical BMS and UPS systems across data centre projects, ensuring optimal system performance.
Perform routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on electrical control systems and UPS systems.
Commissioning and calibration of BMS controls and UPS equipment.
Conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operations in high-demand data centre environments.
Work closely with project teams to ensure efficient integration of BMS and UPS systems during construction and upgrades.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, focusing on safety, performance, and reliability.
Provide technical support and advice to clients and other team members as required.
Keep detailed service reports and documentation of work performed.
Participate in on-call rotations for emergency support and respond promptly to client issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience in BMS and UPS systems, ideally within data centre or mission-critical environments.
Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, power distribution, and critical power management.
Familiarity with Siemens, Trend, Honeywell, or similar BMS systems.
Experience with UPS manufacturers such as Schneider Electric, APC, Eaton, or similar.
Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience.
Full UK driving licence.
