Housing Maintenance Officer

Your new companyYou will be working as part of a large property management team to deliver property maintenance services to a large property portfolio in the Elgin area. Working as a Housing Maintenance Officer, you will work on a temporary contract for around 3 months via Hays.Your new roleIn your new role, you will proactively work on identifying defects and repairs required for housing stock. Working to review the condition of externals such as roofing, gutters and fencing in the first instance. By reviewing the current conditions, you will then provide recommendations for repairs and put together a specification of what would be required. In addition to this, you will then monitor the work as it is completed, with a final review of the work when completed. Working as part of a team, you will drive positive behaviour and attitudes to proactive maintenance planning and driving solutions forward. Your role will involve a mixture of travelling across the Elgin area to survey properties and office-based work, where you will be logging information and writing reports.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this role, you will ideally hold a qualification such as an SVQ or a HNC in a construction or surveying discipline. Previous experience in a housing or property maintenance role would be desirable. Technical knowledge of maintenance and construction would be desirable in order for you to confidently work with contractors and consultants to complete the work. You must have good IT skills, be able to produce reports and keep all records up-to-date. An ability to communicate with tenants, your wider team and external contractors is also essential. You must also hold a full driving licence as travel will be required in this role.What you'll get in returnThis role offers an immediate start in Elgin, the possibility of a contract extension beyond the initial 3-month period and a competitive rate of pay. You will work up to a 37-hour week from Monday to Friday.
