JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sales & Marketing Manager position is a key position in the Company. Carrying out continuous customer and staff relations services, the position provides the post holder with a genuinely rewarding experience and provides a springboard to a leisure management career in one of the most attractive and fast growing leisure management companies.

Barry Leisure Centre is a flagship site in the Vale of Glamorgan and a fun day out for the family located a stones throw from the iconic Barry Island. The site boosts a 25m pool, learner pool, 6 court sports hall & Squash court. The site also has two fully equipped Gym's, fitness studio and Spin studio. With a significant daily footfall, this site has an important role in providing leisure services to the Vale from swimming lessons to fitness classes and much more.

Primary objectives for the Sales & Marketing Manager will be:

  • To promote excellent customer services.
  • Develop & implement new and exciting sales & marketing methods.
  • To contribute to the growth of the Fitness membership base by hitting Sales Targets.
  • To work closely with our central marketing team and ensure all centre marketing promotion is clear, simple and up to date maximising any local opportunities or partnerships.
  • To ensure the retail area is well managed and commercially successful.
  • To manage and deliver the social media calendar for the site.
  • To support the Centre Manager in achieving the budget.
  • To ensure all Health & Safety procedures and responsibilities are carried out at all times.
  • Provide continuous training & development of the Sales team.

Interviews for this role will commence 17/09/2024

The Sales & Marketing Manager will focus day to day on the following tasks:

  • To manage the Sales teams. Areas of responsibility would include recruitment, welfare, rota management, payroll, training and development of the team. This includes the management of the sales team and monthly planning.
  • To be aware of all Health and Safety issues within the Centre, specifically the front of house.
  • Provide front of house Sales cover in cases of annual leave, sickness or absence inc. weekends.
  • To ensure that the financial objectives of the department are achieved and the appropriate financial systems and procedures are followed.
  • To lead on the marketing and publicity of all activities and events and develop distribution networks for promotional materials. The correct candidate will create, manage and deliver the social media calendar to achieve this.
  • To increase social media engagement through all relevant platforms
  • To increase footfall into the Centre through seasonal marketing campaigns.
  • To work with any corporate and local partnerships to drive further business into the Centre.
  • To plan and create content for our social media platforms, as well as managing/monitoring our website.
  • To ensure that the Sales team and themselves are delivering the centre's KPIs/MPCs in order to work towards achieving monthly sales targets.
  • To ensure all facilities are presented to the highest levels of cleanliness and comfort.
  • To assist in the management of the Centre's quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be required by the Centre Manager

Qualifications

Flexible, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team. You will ideally possess a level three or higher management qualification, have at least 2 years of management experience and be able to demonstrate some experience in Sales and/or marketing. Regardless of your professional background, candidates with a genuine passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Must be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees
  • Must be able to communicate at different levels of the organisation.

  • Must be able to maintain and be committed to good employee relations and deliver quality training.
