The ZBD app lets users jump into a universe of games and apps, connect with friends and earn Bitcoin while having fun. ZBD also empowers developers to embed bitcoin payments into video games and applications, such as podcasting and music streaming. ZBD’s unique proposition enables these partner developers to better monetise their games and apps by allowing users to receive micro-rewards for actions taken in the game or app. ZBD provides this functionality by leveraging the Bitcoin blockchain and Lightning Network protocol.

The business comprises almost 70 employees - across business development, marketing, compliance, operations, technology, customer success and customer support - from Los Angeles to New York, London, Amsterdam and the Philippines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and coach the marketing team leads (Content, Social/Community, Product and PBM) to ensure coordinated and high-impact output.
  • Drive clearly differentiated and consistent articulation of ZBD’s positioning, brand and tone of voice for users and game developers
  • Define, own and implement the ZBD marketing plan to drive key metrics - incl revenue, new customers, ROMI and brand awareness - ensuring buy-in from key stakeholders as well as coordination within and across teams and suppliers.
  • Work closely with Product to ensure ZEBEDEE defines and implements GTM plans that clearly identify the target market, define messaging and channels and maximise revenue from new products and features.
  • Drive more new game developer acquisition by working closely with business development to (i) identify, own and implement campaigns and initiatives; (ii) develop, maintain and adapt sales collateral for each stage of the sales process to drive conversion improvements.
  • Support improvements in key user metrics including CAC, CLTV and ROAS working with teammates - including in Product and Business Intelligence.
  • Build strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders - including sales, product, compliance, legal and external agencies.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • More than ten years of experience in the marketing function - including demonstrable experience of high-impact output - e.g. on conversion, SEO, CAC, ROMI, ROAS, etc. and at least 8 years of management experience.
  • Evidence of success in marketing a B2B2C business.
  • A background in marketing within the video games sector, or, at a minimum, a strong understanding of the video games business (dynamics, key players and industry challenges) through work in adjacent markets (such as game analytics software or other developer-centric video game tools)
  • A strong understanding of rewarded environments and adtech.
  • A proven ability to collaborate, lead and get the best out of people.
  • Experience leveraging tools such as Mixpanel and Hubspot.
  • Ability to adapt to and lead through fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Languages: English – essential; Portuguese and Spanish desired.
  • An interest in BTC and Lightning Network is helpful but not essential.
  • You are excited about the prospect of taking ownership of marketing at ZBD and defining (and implementing) a cost-effective plan to drive revenue and improve key metrics - incl conversion, ROAS and ROMI.
  • You’re a clear communicator - in writing and in speaking.
  • You’re passionate about measuring and tracking metrics and driving improvements.
  • You love collaborating with your team, colleagues and external agencies to get the best outcome for the business.
  • You love rolling up your sleeves and doing whatever is needed to achieve the goals - whether that is defining a campaign, drafting a brief, coordinating teams, coaching your team or working with an agency to get the best out of them.
  • You are structured and organised, able to handle the competing pressures of immediate tasks such as incoming media opportunities alongside longer term projects and campaigns. Importantly, you’re able to also enable your team to focus and prioritize the most high-impact initiatives.
  • You have a bias toward action and pace.
  • You are comfortable working in an early stage of a business, where time is critical, and things can frequently change.
  • You are interested in Bitcoin and/or the Lightning Network.
