Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties.
Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
Analyses the commercial progress and report to senior project staff.
Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes;
Ability to draft and negotiate NEC forms of contract.
Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required;
Prepares, submits and negotiates claims, changes and variationsWho we're looking for:
The ideal person will have the following qualities and experience
BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent;
Membership of RICS, CICES or CIOB (or working towards).

We are building the West Midlands section of HS2’s Phase One route, spanning approximately 90km from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. We will be employing thousands of people in the area to design and build the civil infrastructure for HS2 through the West Midlands area and are looking for a wide range of experts to join the team and support this unique, ground breaking project.

You could help us build that civil infrastructure:
42 viaducts totaling over 11km, 66 over-bridges;
More than 35 cuttings reaching over 30km;
56 culverts and other under-bridges;
66 embankments reaching over 33km;
Building four motorway crossings requiring box structures and six interfaces with the existing rail requiring both dive-under and over-bridge structures.

Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Commercial Change Manager within the Commercial Team. This role will be based in Coleshill.
The sublot is situated between Birmingham and Coventry covering a 6km stretch, running north from the River Blythe to Coleshill, crossing three major highways - the A45, M42 and M6. The assets in this sublot will take 45-50 million hours to construct. Initial work includes the construction of a service road and improvements to the A45. This section will extend to the M42 twin boxes including the construction of three earthworks assets – two embankments and one cutting.
A Commercial Manager responsible for managing Change in accordance with NEC based contracts impacting the design of the HS2 Area North works, both permanent and temporary works. Contracts include the Contractor’s main contract and several design subcontracts typically multi-million pounds in value.
Some (if not all) contracts will be administered using the online CEMAR system.
The role requires timely issue and response to formal contract notices, and managing all aspects of change, including early warnings and compensation events.
Experienced required
• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
• Membership of RICS, ICE or CIOB
• Comprehensive working knowledge of NEC
• UK Construction experience

Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

• 62 overbridges
• 35 cuttings
• 56 culverts
• 62 embankments
• 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels
• 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses
