This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced reinsurance lawyer to take on a visible, business-facing role within a high-performing in-house legal team. The Opportunity As Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll work at the heart of a dynamic international business, providing strategic legal support across its reinsurance operations. You’ll partner closely with senior stakeholders in underwriting, claims, finance and risk to shape commercial decisions and help the business navigate a complex, evolving regulatory environment. Key Responsibilities • Advise on the full range of reinsurance contracts, including facultative and treaty arrangements • Draft, review and negotiate high-value reinsurance agreements and related commercial documentation • Provide guidance on claims, coverage and regulatory issues affecting the business globally • Support the development of internal policies, governance frameworks and strategic projects • Liaise with regulators and external counsel on key matters, acting as a trusted senior point of contact About You • Qualified solicitor (UK or equivalent) with 6+ years’ PQE gained in reinsurance, insurance or financial services • Strong technical grounding in reinsurance law, including treaty and facultative structures • Commercially minded, pragmatic and confident advising senior stakeholders • Exceptional communication skills and ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-lawyers • Experience gained in-house within the (re)insurance sector or from a leading insurance practice Why Join You’ll be part of an ambitious, inclusive business that invests heavily in its people and technology.
