Habitation Technician

Motorhome/Caravan Repair Technician required in South Bristol. 
Starting salary up to £31,941 pending experience.
39-hour week from 7:00am-4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00am-12:00pm Friday.
Fantastic company benefits long-term career development prospects with a local business operating since 1948.Our client, a leading motorhome/caravan manufacturer and retailer based in the Southwest region, is currently looking to recruit a Repair Technician for their head office in South Bristol.
Reporting to the Workshop Controller and working as part of a long-standing and friendly team, as a Repair Technician, you will be primarily accountable for warranty-related repairs of motorhomes and caravans both on-site and at customer's premises on occasions (company van/fuel allowance provided) to the highest standard creating a first-time fix environment. The type of repairs you'll be carrying out will include general habitation checks, gas and electrical repairs and instillation, heating system diagnosis and repairs, damp testing, woodwork, upholstery, chassis/body repairs, and the removal and re-fitting/retrofitting of accessories such as bike racks, awnings, TV aerials and solar panels.
To be eligible you will need to have experience in an automotive vehicle repair environment and/or be skilled at general house repairs/DIY tasks with the ability to complete appropriate diagnosis to understand route cause failures and ensure repairs completed with be effective and deliver on our client's first-time fix targets. Experience with gas and electric operating systems will also be required. Any experience in the motorhome/caravan service industry or within another similar habitation role such as boat building would be highly advantageous but isn't essential.
Overall, you will have good communication skills both with internal and external parties, have a full, clean UK driving license, have good written skills and be IT literate, have a desire to deliver high standards of customer service and always represent our client in a positive light. Any experience of teaching/mentoring staff would be beneficial, and you will be able to demonstrate leadership with excellent attendance/timekeeping and continuous work-based improvement.
