Key information about this Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA role:
You will be covering PPA cover lessons and gain valuable experience in the classroom
You will be working with specialist professionals in a Speech and Language department
Manage a small team of Teaching Assistants
Long term contract starting ASAP This school have a specialist Speech and Language department who follow the ICAN project ran by the NHS. They have Specialist Educational Practitioners, Nursery Nurses and a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who you will work alongside on a weekly basis.

Job Description - Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA
Higher-Level Teaching Assistant role
Complete 1:1 and group activities with the KS3, KS4 and KS5 (ages 11-16)
Working within the Speech and Language Department
Shadowing professionals such as Speech and Language therapists.
Working closely with SEN students including Non - Verbal, Pre - Verbal and those who have limited communication.
Use creative and imaginative ways to communicate and build rapports with the students
To support the lead teacher with resources and basic behaviour management
To cover lessons when the teacher is completing PPA
Monday to Friday 8:30-4pm
£120 - £140 per day
September 2024 start (for full academic year)
Located in Greenwich

Experience as a Teaching Assistant
Strong passion for working with students on their academia and mental health
Enthusiasm and creative to be able to inspire children with learning
The ability to write cogently and fluently with correct spelling and punctuation
Patience, kindness, flexibility, good humour and the ability to work as part of a team
