TeacherActive are looking for Teaching Assistant to work in an “outstanding” special school in Ackworth. This school caters to young people aged 11-19 years with severe, complex, or profound and multiple learning difficulties. The school focuses on developing their student’s communication, social interaction, life skills and community access.
As a Learning Mentor your responsibilities will include planning lessons and deliver them on a 1:1 basis, support and develop SEN students and cater your teaching to each individual student’s needs. This role will begin after the half-term and roll over into the next school year, there is chance that this will lead into a permanent position for the right Learning Mentor. We build strong relationships with our schools and support staff so we can find the best placements that suit you and your schedule.
The ideal Teaching Assistant should have the following:
Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or experience with Children who have Special Educational Needs
A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
Experience in working with and supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
