Our client, a major global engineering firm with expertise in the design and delivery of projects in the water sector, is looking to expand its team in Scotland by recruiting an experienced Site Manager based in Glasgow. The successful candidate must be willing to travel throughout Scotland when required.
Position: Site Manager
Location: Glasgow, with travel throughout Scotland when required
Role Overview:
Working on the Scottish Water Framework, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of wastewater and water infrastructure and civil engineering projects, supervising the project from inception to completion. You should be an excellent leader with great interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Accountable for the management and site supervision of teams on water and wastewater capital maintenance upgrades.
Ensure sites comply with company SHEQ policies and procedures, promoting a strong Health & Safety and quality-focused culture.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with company safety procedures.
Lead, guide, and mentor members of the project team when required.
Maintain good on/off-site working relationships.
Manage site logistics to maximise production.
Record and report all site returns to the management team.
Ensure contracts are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the client’s specifications.
Liaise with project teams to provide feedback on milestones and issues, ensuring site teams contact project teams when necessary.
Effectively manage any project delays.
Essential Requirements:
A Civil Engineering-related degree.
Demonstrable experience as a Site Manager delivering water projects.
Experience working on MEICA projects is desirable.
Previous civil engineering experience is essential.
Appropriate knowledge of health and safety policies.
Excellent communication and liaison skills.
Valid CSCS and SHEA qualification is desired.
SMSTS qualified.
A full UK driving licence.
