Milk Education are working with a Primary school in Trafford who are looking to employ a Behaviour Support Assistant on a long- term basis.
The role of Behaviour Support Assistant will involve providing support to KS1 and KS2 students who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning, due to various needs such as SEN/SEMH and coming from underprivileged backgrounds. This role will commence as soon as possible. It is important that you are proactive in building relationships with these students and liaise with the SENCO to provide best outcomes.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Encourage the inclusion of pupils with SEN/SEMH needs by using positive behaviour management techniques and specialised resources to engage them into their learning.
- Provide specific support to students dependent upon their individual needs and implement strategies to support them with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
- Model, within class, supportive strategies that will encourage and develop appropriate learning styles and behaviour in a variety of settings i.e with individuals and group/whole class.
- Model group-based activities that will develop this pupil’s problem-solving, listening and social skills
