Security Engineer – Guildford/Hybrid – £70K


A Security Engineer is needed to join a financial services company to be part of a growing IT/Security team working with the latest Azure cloud technologies. You will be responsible for a number of cyber tasks such as working with the SOC provider, vulnerability management along with ensuring the digital transformation project is secure.


This is your opportunity to work alongside an experienced CISO, who thinks outside the box and truly believes in supporting through continuous learning and development.


Security Engineer Responsibilities:

· Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause

· Perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities

· Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard

· Develop company-wide best practices for IT security

· Perform internal penetration testing if required

· Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management

· Be an escalation point for the service desk with resolving security/network related issues


Security Engineer Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Requirements:

· Strong knowledge of Azure services, such as Azure Active Directory, Defender 365, Sentinel and Azure Virtual Desktop and Intune

· Proven work experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst or Engineer or similar role

· Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques

· Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus and IDPS concepts

· Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them

· Knowledge of security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS
