Role Overview: As a Newly Qualified Teacher at Stepping Stones, you will be immersed in a supportive environment, allowing you opportunities to shadow experienced instructors and gain hands-on experience and build your confidence as a swimming instructor. You will play a crucial role in the delivery and progression of swimmers within our swim programme, catering to children typically aged between 3yrs - 11yrs. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation in swim instruction while making a positive impact on children's learning and development.

Qualifications:

  • National Governing Body Swimming Teacher Certificate (Essential) SSTQ UKCC STA ASA
  • Passion for learning and professional development
  • Desirable NRASTC or NPLQ qualification but not essential

Main Duties:

  • Participate in a comprehensive mentoring and shadowing program to build teaching skills and confidence
  • Assist in the safe delivery of swimming lessons following the Stepping Stones weekly framework
  • Support the progression and development of each swimmer through the Stepping Stones framework
  • Engage with the assessment of swimmers for the awards program twice per year
  • Provide feedback to the Stepping Stones office as required
