THE BUSINESS


Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Senior Radio Engineer to work for our client based in the Teesside area.


Our client is a market leader in the hire and sale of high quality 2-way communication systems and in the design and installation of complex communications solutions. The business has a heavy commitment to customer care and to providing technical support, rapid response repairs and their top-quality service is demonstrated by them being accredited with European ISO-9001 quality standards.


The organisation has placed massive investment within its sites, product portfolio and service delivery standards. The business also has excellent links with manufacturers. They believe heavily in training and development and not only do they invest in staff, but also technology in order to future proof the business.


The business is financially strong, they have a brilliant reputation in the market and they are heavily ambitious. The organisation currently has around 30 plus staff members and a £4M annual turnover, set to grow to £5M this year.



THE ROLE


  • To support the company’s growth and profitability goals by conducting hardware installations, programming and repairs
  • To undertake project management and overcome any technical issues
  • To take a technical lead position within the existing team of engineers and work with manufacturers for the company product solutions
  • To work with the engineering team manager and other senior radio engineers to create and deliver technical training plans to the existing engineering team
  • To deliver installation and servicing work in a customer facing position
  • To work with the engineering team manager and senior radio engineers to create a positional environment which produces an efficient, productive and motivated team of engineers
  • Help plan workloads with the engineering team manager and senior radio engineers
  • Hardware preparation and installation, radio repairs and programming
  • The successful candidate will provide installation management for new and existing client installations, throughout the UK and occasionally in mainland Europe, including the pre-sales stage to help plan and scope installations
  • Managing installations, maintaining working practices, surveys and creating project documentation



THE PERSON


  • 5 years’ plus experience working as a Radio Engineer
  • Electronic bench engineering skills
  • Proficient with two-way radio systems including range testing
  • Experience working within a commercial environment
  • Strong communicator
  • A team player
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Able to work with multiple projects
  • Reliable, punctual, strong work attendance and ethic
  • Extremely well organised and capable of planning own workload and assisting junior colleagues with work planning
  • Looking for long-term growth with the company.
