This will be a hybrid role working out of their headquarters in Kidlington working 3 days a week from home and 2 days in the office.
Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity for a temporary Head of Accounts in Corporate Finance. The Accounts team is in the initial stages of a formal review to transform the team, improving efficiency, effectiveness and productivity. One of your key responsibilities will be to deliver the change in a timely manner working with internal and external teams to transform the Accounts function.
As a Member of the Finance Senior Management Team you will be responsible for developing and delivering the financial strategy for the Force. Responsibilities include supporting the Director of Finance in delivering Financial Management and Business Partnering services to the Force and its strategic partners including statutory reporting, Management Accounting, strategic financial planning, investment appraisal and commercial analysis. The successful candidate will rapidly engage with the team as the first step to delivering the transformation alongside maintaining BAU. They will need to lead and manage the Accounts team, developing a strong team culture across the Corporate Finance Team and the Finance Business Partners. CCAB Qualified accountant with significant experience at senior level in complex organisations.
In depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practice.
Proven and extensive managerial experience, to provide professional advice and support to Senior Management teams, including the Director of Finance as a member of the department's management team.
Experience of motivating and leading large finance teams through periods of change.
Experience of working with / partnering teams outside of core finance, preferably including to leadership level.
Strong commercial and analytical skills - with ability to analyse complex information and assess options and draw appropriate advice.
Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels with ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for a broad range of senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience to plan over short, medium and long term timeframes and adjust plans and resources as required.
Experience of leading and managing successful projects.
