Position Overview:
The CNC Textile conversion supervisor is responsible for producing precision cut parts by setting up, programming, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. The role involves maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping detailed records, and ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the engineer and production manager to discuss orders, processes, and any issues.
* Programme and adjust machine controls, including blade tension and cutting speeds, to produce specified products. Make adjustments as and when fabric types and styles change.
* Operate machine to cut multiple layers of fabric into parts for upholstery. Conduct test runs to verify settings and obtain product samples.
* Inspect and test products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
* Record detailed information about completed work and machine settings.
* Clean, oil, and lubricate machine using air hoses, cleaning solutions, rags, oilcans, and grease guns.
* Notify management of any mechanical malfunctions.
* Supervise a small team, ensuring efficient workflow and safety.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Preferably 2+ years of relevant work experience in this sector.
* Experience using hand power tools preferable but not essential.
* Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on systems and method improvement.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficient in computer use.
* CAD Experience preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
