Our client a medium sized multi-disciplinary consultancy with 4 offices through out the UK are currently looking for a Building Control Surveyor to join their team based in Bradford.The Building Control Officer will work as part of a team responsible for assisting in the enforcement of the Building Regulations. Responsibilities include assessing plans for compliance with the Building Regulations and undertaking site visits to inspect building works under construction as well as keeping accurate records relating to all decisions made. The successful applicant will also provide advice to construction professionals, building owners and members of the public.Further responsibilities include dealing with and keeping records of unauthorised building work in contravention of the Building Regulations and dealing with reversion of works due to the cancellation of Initial Notices.Qualifications/Experience

  • Appropriate Building Technology qualification and either full membership, or working to achieve full membership, of MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB.
  • Evidence of meeting obligations for Continuing Professional Development as required by RICS, CABE, CIOB.
  • Knowledge of current Building Regulations, Approved Documents and allied legislation in order to carry out plan vetting and site inspections.
  • Previous experience working in a Building Control role.
The ideal applicant will have an excellent knowledge of construction technology and the building process as well possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills, IT literacy skills and possess a full driving licence with access to a vehicle.For further information on this role please contact Claire Pattison on (phone number removed)
