Our client, a Local Authority based in the Southwest, is currently seeking a Principal Planning Officer for a 3-month initial contract. As a Principal Planning Officer, you will have the opportunity to work on an interesting case-load of major applications and take on sign-off responsibilities for junior staff.
This role has a hybrid working arrangement and the successful candidate can work remotely with occasional office/site visits.
Key Responsibilities
Handle a diverse caseload of major planning applications
Provide guidance and support to junior planning staff
Review and make recommendations on planning reports
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with planning regulations
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Job Requirements
Significant experience in Development Management and Town Planning
Strong knowledge of planning legislation and regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage a diverse workload and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Proficiency in using planning software and tools
Flexibility to work remotely with occasional site visits
Qualification in Town Planning or a related field
