Our ICT team plays a crucial role in this mission by providing innovative and reliable technology solutions that support frontline police and fire services.

The Role:

As a Solution Architect, you will be a key player in our ICT Department. Your mission is to design and implement technology solutions that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our services. You will work closely with various teams to ensure our technology is secure, up-to-date, and meets the needs of our frontline workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in Design:Lead the design of new technology solutions, ensuring they fit seamlessly with our existing systems.
  • Strategic Input:Help shape our overall ICT strategy, ensuring our technology supports our organizational goals.
  • Project Management:Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Continuous Improvement:Promote ongoing improvements in our technology services, ensuring we always offer the best solutions.
  • Risk Management:Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
  • Supplier Engagement:Work with suppliers to ensure we get the best products and services.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education & Qualifications:A degree in a relevant field, with certifications like ITIL, Prince2, or Agile being a plus.
  • Experience:Extensive experience in ICT management, with a track record of designing and delivering effective technology solutions. Experience in the public sector, particularly in emergency services, is highly desirable.
  • Skills:Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication abilities. You should be able to build strong relationships with various stakeholders and lead projects effectively.
  • Technical Knowledge:Familiarity with best practices in technology design and development, and knowledge of standards such as TOGAF, Cyber Essentials Plus, GDPR, and ISO27001.
