Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Adult MASH & DoLS Operations Manager on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Population and & Wellbeing department.
Main purpose of position:
To lead the Safeguarding Triage and Screening team, as part of Adult Social Care's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) functions of ASC. To manage the resources and budget allocated for both services and monitor, review and drive good practice standards and outcomes for adults at risk, in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and the Statutory Guidance.
As a Adult MASH & DoLS Operations Manager, you will be responsible to:
Under the Direction of the head of service, manage and sustain the full operational responsibilities for both the Adult MASH and DoLS team providing specialist advice and support to staff throughout the service and directorate for safeguarding and DoLSTo plan and organise workload ensuring young people are safe guarded, competently undertake all aspects of the care task for young people and ensure their needs are met. This will include facilitating admissions.
Coordinate and be responsible for the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 on behalf of the Council as the Supervisory body, responding to all authorisation requests to the Adult MASH Team, chairing and advising strategic and operational meetings and Panels, making high-risk decisions on behalf of the Council.
Ensure case recording is maintained at a high level through the establishment and management of quality assurance systems, undertaking case file audits to improve practice standards. Responding to complaints and other enquiries and using this information to implement and improve service delivery through the development of strategic objectives.
Skills and Experience
In depth experience of working in a health, social care or police setting.
Demonstrable management experience working with complex high risk decision making in social care services.
Demonstrable experience of effective leadership, development and motivation of staff.
Able to manage, motivate and develop a social services team effectively, achieving high levels of performance from staff.
Able to manage a devolved budget and develop and maintain effective administrative and organisational procedures
Able to carry out audits and make recommendations for improving practice
