PORTSMOUTH TOOLMAKER*
A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Toolmaker at a renowned defence company who specialise in firearms.
This role requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will have the ability to establish productive working relationships with Engineering and Planning.
Due to the nature of this role, all applicants must have a UK Passport.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Working as part of a skilled team you will be:
Competent with manual centre lathes and manual mills
Able to read and understand 2D drawings.
Experienced with surface and cylindrical grinding.
Experienced within CNC machining an advantage.Your key tasks will include:
Manufacturing parts to Engineering drawing supplied.
Providing support and identifying solutions for day-to-day manufacturing issues
Creating and maintaining production documentation including route cards, tooling, process, and inspection sheets
Experience of the following will be an advantage:
CAD CAM knowledge
Wire EDM experience
Press tool maintenance
Assisting in the design of fixturing and identifying tooling requirements
Working hours - 36 hours per week Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:00 Fri 08:00-12:00
Due to the nature of the products being manufactured, candidates will be subject to SC clearance and must be a UK Passport holder.
