We have a fantastic opportunity at HMPYOI Feltham to join the Novus education team as our Functional Skills Curriculum Manager (English/Maths) on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours a week.
Job description
We are looking for a Functional Skills Curriculum Manager to join our education team at HMP Feltham. You will be managing a team of up to 7 Functional Skills Teachers and be responsible and accountable for the day to day running, management and delivery of curriculum areas within the establishment. You will be working directly with the Local Education Manager and the prison Governor's representatives.
You will play a key role in providing strategic and operational direction, managing, and coaching the Education team with a focus on driving high quality performance and outcomes. You will bring your experience to the role to inform effective strategies for supporting our learners' complex needs and barriers.
You will need patience, passion and understanding in your approach which will in turn help our learners to secure future employment opportunities post-release. We always try to cater to a learner's individual needs and ensure we create a positive learner experience.
To be successful in the role, you will need:
Teaching qualification - minimum PGCE or Educational Degree (with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding qualification(s) within a specified time scale (required).
Management experience with experience in delivery of English and Mathematics.
Hold at least a Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE A-C) qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Have a history of working effectively with people presenting challenging behaviour. About Novus
