OverviewnEverest People Solutions is currently seeking a versatile maintenance engineer with a strong focus on electrical skills. As a Maintenance Engineer, your main responsibility will be to maintain the smooth functioning of the factory by promptly addressing breakdowns and performing maintenance tasks. Moreover, you will play a crucial role in optimizing site operations by introducing enhancements in machinery, hygiene protocols, and overall efficiency. In the role of Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for both reactive responses to issues and proactive maintenance initiatives, ensuring that all work adheres to the highest standards throughout the entire facility.

Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Maintenance EngineernOversee maintenance operations across the factory.nAddress breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.nConduct repairs during production, alone or in teams, focusing on effectiveness.nExecute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) proactively.nAchieve plant uptime and maintenance KPIs.nIntroduce machinery and site enhancements.nManage engineering time efficiently.nEnsure tool and equipment safety and cleanliness.nAdhere to technical protocols and GMP.nMaintain tidy workspaces, following hygiene standards.nUphold Health and Safety standards.nLog daily engineering reports.nAssist in stock management.nComplete work orders promptly.nCoordinate with contractors.

Requirements for the Maintenance EngineernMinimum 3 years of engineering experience.nMulti-skilled with NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering.nNationally recognised apprenticeship in engineering and 18th Edition Certification.nProactive approach to fault finding and commitment to continuous improvement.nAbility to work independently with knowledge, discipline, and initiative.nPractical and team-oriented attitude towards engineering challenges.nWorks well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.nEffective written and verbal communication skills.nProficient in MS Office and PPM systems, with understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings.nFlexible and logical approach to work, demonstrating a sense of urgency for continuous improvement.nStrong decision-making skills.nEssential experience in the food industry.nExposure to mixers, pulverisers, grinders advantageous.nExtensive breakdown analysis experience.nHealth and Safety/Basic Food Hygiene training.nExperience in managing on-site contractors.nFlexible with start/finish times to align with production requirements.nWillingness to work extra hours in busy periods to meet business and customer needs.nComfortable working in varying temperatures.nPhysically fit for manual handling, working at height, and standing for long periods.
