Grid Connections Engineer - 6 month rolling contract - Outside IR35 - Monday - Friday - Hybrid (Midlands)


I am looking for a Grid Connections Engineer who will be responsible for the design of the grid connections , interfacing with the customer and lead the delivery of grid connections for the clients projects. I am looking for someone to start as soon as possible who has National Grid or DNO experience. You must have hands on experience and understand DNO / National Grids assets.


The Role :

  • Manage and contribute to the portfolio of projects and schemes throughout development
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure development of the project and hit project milestones
  • Interface with National Grid/DNO and the client
  • Assist with the connections applications
  • Developing the cable routes on the land to the points of connection
  • Managing the grid connections and developing them alongside the land and planning colleagues
  • Carry out feasibility studies across the projects and identify the associated risks
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies for future connections
  • Lead the delivery of grid connections for the projects you are responsible for


Experience:

  • Experience in the transmission and distribution industry is desired
  • Experience working in the renewables sector with electrical design and engineering
  • 7 years’ experience working for National Grid or a DNO
  • An Electrical Engineering background is desired
  • A solid understanding of the technical specifications relating to the substations and National Grid
  • Experience in managing and designing renewable generation plants
  • Experience in operating National Grid assets
  • Have a basic understanding on land applications and contracts

  • Hybrid option (minimum of 2 days in the office)
  • ASAP start date
  • 6 month rolling contract
  • Monday - Friday
  • A professional working day
  • Day rate , outside IR35
