Brighton, United Kingdom Pink Tile Education Ltd Full time
Teaching Assistant - Adhoc, Full-Time and Part-Time Supply Support Staff (with a potential view of permanent part/full time if interested). Experience desired, but open for all to gain their first steps into education.
Pink Tile Education are a specialist in school opportunities across Sussex. Currently, we are recruiting for wonderful, forward-thinking schools seeking ad-hoc, supply Teaching Assistants to join their highly skilled teams. This opportunity will involve working closely with primary-aged and secondary-aged children to support their development. All our schools have a highly effective senior leadership team and can demonstrate outstanding teaching and learning. This role will provide you with a platform to further your practice and to be flexible. Please get in touch to learn more about this outstanding job.
Our schools always look for teaching assistants to cover their staff as and when needed. If a full-time role does not suit your current availability, be part of the team in a different way We look to cover staff sickness/appointments in advance by taking your availability week-to-week and matching you up with some of our exciting, local schools. Sometimes, we may get less than 24 hours' notice (due to the nature of supply e.g. illness) so having staff like you on standby in the mornings when you are available is so important to our schools, you help in many ways.
By continuing your role, you will create relationships with the school and the children that could see you offered a part-time full-time role in the future - should you be looking for that opportunity.
Schools ideally would like TAs to be available 08:30-15:30 on their selected available days and would ask for those TAs to be invited to cover first. However, 09:00 - 14:45 would also work in emergency cover.
Please note that this work is supply and ad-hoc. We will always do our best to offer work at every opportunity you have available. Please be open and flexible with age ranges, special educational needs & disabilities and behaviours.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work with school children in and around Sussex. If you are seeking an opportunity as a supply staff teaching assistant, we want to hear from you.
Are you:
  • Passionate about inspiring young people to develop and grow?
  • Looking for a role that will fit your availability?
  • Creative, dedicated and willing to work as part of a high-performing team?
  • Do you have/want to develop good classroom management skills?

Teaching Assistant required for day-to-day cover
Minimum Requirements:
  • Natural ability and understanding when working with young people, especially those with SEND.
  • Passion for helping and supporting children develop confidence and achievement.
  • Ready to learn about the role of a Teaching Assistant and grow as you progress in your new role?
  • Happy to accept a challenge, make friends with colleagues quickly, build relationships with children immediately and be positive, resilient and a great staff member for the day.
  • Flexible - being open to exploring many TA opportunities in the area with SEND, age ranges and schools.

Desirable, but not essential:
  • Nursery experience/personal care experience
  • NVQ Level 2/3
  • A driver or have access to local transport links
  • SEND experience (work/life)

Like all teaching assistant roles (whether that is in a mainstream school, an independent school or a special school) , the majority of your work will be working with young people with SEND (Special education needs & Disabilities) and/or SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health). The role needs you to adapt quickly, build relationships with children as you go through the day and be ready in the face of a challenge such as behaviour management. Experience is not essential, but a positive, resilient, flexible personality is needed, whichever class you are working with, whatever year group you are working with.
This role will suit:
- Gap Year Students
- Aspiring Teaching Assistants/educators looking for their first step into education (gaining experience for CV)
- Semi-retired workers of education
- Term time roles
- Workers only looking for the odd couple of days around other commitments e.g. self-employment, childcare, weekend work, auditions, etc.
The weekly pay starts at £84+ per day (typical 6.5-hour day), depending on the hours of the school looking for supplies.
