Our client is an international Service Company, operating in over 80 countries. They Provide Heath & Wellbeing Products and Services that protect people’s lives and the reputation of their customers brands.
We are seeking a Head of Product Engineering who will be responsible for driving the completion of bespoke, electromechanical, consumer-facing projects with a global reach, into the hygiene and wellbeing industry.
Job RolenTo own the electrical, electronic and regulatory scope for all hardware projects.nTo support the portfolio of products in- field and products under development as part of the NPD team.nTo work with suppliers to ensure that electrical, electronic and regulatory aspects of projects are executed correctly, providing a solid foundation for on-going product production.nTo lead the Product Validation team to ensure capabilities and resources exist to support the business.nTo lead the Regulatory team to ensure expertise and support are available to provide confidence that Products are safe and legally compliant.nTo lead the In Life Product Engineering Solutions team to ensure support, expert knowledge and resources exist to enable products to be supported throughout their life span from cradle to grave.nResponsible for managing product development projects to completion, through close collaboration with multiple functions across the global Hygiene & Pest Control businesses.nManage Team of 17 technical and managerial colleagues.
ExperiencenExpertise in electronics manufacturing and product designnPrevious relevant experience within a mechanical/electrical/electronics and/or regulatory environmentnA minimum of a good honours degree in an electrical or electronic engineering or similar disciplinenExperience in bringing electronic products to production with high quality expectations.nKnowledge of RF devices and protocols.nKnowledge of regulatory affairs at a regional or international levelnKnowledge of Household Equipment regulatory approval requirements for Global Markets essential.nKnowledge of CB/CE/cULus, FCC, RCM, UKAS, KCC, NOM, INMetro, BSMI, HACCP.nExperience of working with or within a Validation and Test environment and able to apply and recommend test strategies to ensure an understanding of a products expected lifetime within the field is understood prior to product release.nPrevious experience supporting launched products and managing product improvements, cost down initiatives and product maintenance.nStrong leadership skills. Able to lead a technical project team.nAble to manage and deliver a complex project portfolio whilst also identifying opportunities for further simplification, standardisation and cost optimization.nGood analytical problem solving skills with ability to generate and interpret technical data, provide conclusions and recommendations for follow up action accordingly.nWorking knowledge of Schematic capture, layout and gerber editing software an advantage.
