We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Generator Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of diesel and gas generators. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our clients’ power systems.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of generator models.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot generator malfunctions to determine the root cause of issues.
  • Conduct load bank testing and performance evaluations.
  • Install and commission new generators and related equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service records and prepare detailed reports of work performed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients, ensuring optimal performance of their systems.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely, effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support business development and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Full driving licence – Full UK travel and there may also be a requirement for you to travel to the Channel Islands and Europe.
  • National coverage – travelling UK wide Ability to gain security clearance with MOD/Police Forces and others – this will require you to obtain references from previous employers going back 3 years. Will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS check.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Health and Safety qualifications (ECS Card / EFAW / Asbestos Awareness / CCNSG) 18th Edition Qualification BTEC or ONC / HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. NVQ Level 3/Apprenticeship in Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance or similar.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in generator service and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and gas generator systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts as needed.
