Lead PlannerSouth WalesCompetitive Salary + benefits packageThe post holder will be responsible for all aspects of planning, programming and progress monitoring of a section of works on the Duelling of the A465 Areas 5 & 6 project.Accountabilities include the planning and preparation of programmes on the project and the full integration with other project controls functions.The Planner will work closely with planners from multiple organisations within the Joint Venture, including supply chain.Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • For a section of the works; detailed works planning, preparation of delivery programme that reflects the detailed requirements of the works and is consistent with the Project delivery strategy and master strategic delivery programme, progress updates & assisting in the project progress reporting.
  • Integrates the planning function across each stage of the project to ensure there is a single accepted programme with a clearly identifiable critical path, which is fully coordinated in line with best practice and with an agreed Work Breakdown Structure
  • Ensures all pre-construction activities are identified and planned with the same attention to detail as physical work activities, paying particular attention to design and assurance requirements and the involvement of third parties, consents and interface with utilities
  • Liaises where appropriate with Designer, supply chain, statutory consultees and undertakers to ensure all requirements and consents are identified and planned
  • Establishes effective project control systems and processes onsite and ensures that the planning and delivery team fully understands them
  • Works collaboratively and openly with the project team in the production and reporting of programme and maintains a good working relationship with all parties.
The Candidate:
  • Degree (desirable) in Civil Engineering
  • CSCS card required
  • Minimum 10-years industry experience of general civil engineering with evidence of major highway schemes delivery and a general level of understanding & experience in the multiple disciplines associated with highway construction.
  • Experience in planning multi-disciplinary works in essential
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 preferred
  • Experience of programme submissions and updating to NEC requirements is preferred
  • Ability to communicate the planning strategy for complex projects to the wider team
  • Experience of working within a collaborative environment and Client reporting
