If the answer is yes, read on Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for Driver Mate to join our Store to Home team in Bamber Bridge, Preston (PR5 6BZ). You’ll be working on a full-time , permanent basis, on an ‘any 5 days out of 7’ pattern, contracted to 40hrs per week, starting at 7am. This role will require flexibility as you will be working on a 4 week rota pattern (provided in advance) including weekends. Pay, benefits and more: As a Drivers Mate, you’ll receive: An hourly rate of £12.45 that is an annual salary of £25,896.00 A potential to earn an additional £100 every 6 months via the attendance bonus scheme (T&Cs apply) Overtime pay of £18.68 per hour (when applicable, paid over 40hrs) Holiday pay and Workplace pension B&Q store discount upon successful completion of probation period A 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme Access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more Access to GXO University – home to a wealth of online training courses, meaning your development never ends What you’ll do on a typical day: Work as a part of a two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice) on a multidrop basis – an average of 16 drops per day off-peak and 24 drops per day in peak season Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner What you need to succeed at GXO: Experience of dealing with multi-drop home delivery preferred but not essential Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting, and pushing Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check) Be prepared to commute to Bamber Bridge, Preston (PR5 6BZ) for the required shift pattern We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
