Sales Representative

Seeking someone coming from a more technical background and interested in moving into sales

Griffith Elder are manufacturers of electronic, industrial weighing equipment and weighbridges. The company has been supplying customers in the agricultural, logistics, quarrying, recycling and waste industries for more than 40 years. We wish to appoint a Sales Representative to join our team with immediate effect to contribute to the growth of the business. Seeking someone with excellent customer service skills and with a good rapport within one or more of the sectors listed above.

Role & Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities will be,nOffice based with travel to all points in UK with nights away for customer visits and trade shows.nAble to converse with customer management and staff alike, e.g. farm owners and farm staff or haulage owners and drivers.nAble to undertake site surveys with photos & measurements to be saved with the customer filenDiscuss technical requirements with colleagues in order to correctly inform customers.nReview and keep up to date with customer enquiriesnCreate customer quotations. Will involve standard pricing and dedicated costings.nExhibitions – Organise, administrate, set up & attendnProvide input and content for social media, website and other company literaturenCommunicate with and organise advertising with trade publicationsnWin customer orders Liaise and hand over customer order details internally

Candidate Requirements

Focused on new product sales of medium to high value capital equipment.nProducts are generally a one-off purchase that lasts for decades. This position is not based around repeat sales to the same customers.nThe ability to understand technical requirements and product capabilities is important. Products involve mechanical, electronic and software as a complete weighing solution.nAgri background with understanding of UK farming practices is preferred – particularly arable. However other sectors will also be considered from a suitable applicant.nComputer skills for updating details onto the company systems.nOrganised, excellent communication skills, and customer focused.nAbility and willingness to work extra hours as and when requirednFull UK Driving Licence.
