Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy with offices across the UK. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join their London office. This role offers the chance to deliver exceptional service to a wide range of clients and provides significant opportunities for career progression within a well-established and respected firm.


About the Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll take a leading role in delivering high-quality services across diverse sectors, including residential, commercial, retail, leisure, historical, industrial, and public sector schemes. You’ll leverage your technical expertise and leadership skills to guide projects and support junior surveyors, ensuring the highest standards of service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage building surveys, inspections, and defect diagnosis.
  • Prepare and submit Planning and Building Control applications.
  • Deliver professional reports, including Due Diligence surveys, schedules of condition, and dilapidation reports.
  • Oversee refurbishment, renovation, and maintenance projects, including specification writing and contract administration.
  • Conduct measured surveys and produce drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Manage Planned Maintenance Surveys and implement quality, safety, and environmental principles.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Building Surveyor, ideally in a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
  • BSc in Building Surveying or equivalent.
  • Chartered status (MRICS or similar) or working towards it.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, planning laws, and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, as well as MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.
