Our client, a leading global asset manager is looking for a Chief Architect to lead their application architecture domain.
The successful candidate will work closely with the head of technology and other architecture functions (data, enterprise, business, infrastructure, solutions) in shaping the technology strategy and delivering a cutting-edge technology environment; specifically leading the delivery of an enterprise operating platform for all application development and integration.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a highly experienced and passionate technologist who understands modern infrastructure and the benefits that it can bring to a global organisation. You will come from a deeply technical background, with expertise across software development, data, modern ways of working, large scale and complex transformation and will possess strong people leadership skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic leadership - people and technology.
- Technology development - defining target architecture to drive platform and application development.
- Cross functional collaboration - with stakeholders and users, knowledge sharing and leveraging collective expertise.
- Technical expertise - monitoring industry trends and emerging technologies, providing guidance and mentorship to architecture teams, promoting continuous learning and skills development.
- Risk management - adhering to standards, regulation, compliance and developing mitigation strategies.
Experience required:
- Deeply technical background and previous experience working in a head of architecture capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms and services as well as on prem infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of modern engineering and agile practices such as CI/CD, IaC, DevOps.
- previous experience building internal developer platforms, high velocity application development processes and pipelines.
- Demonstrable experience building scalable and secure technology solutions.
- Previous financial services experience, ideally in the asset management arena, architecting high throughput applications.
- Strong interpersonal and senior stakeholder management skills.
